District Swimming

Districts - Boys - Division I - To be completed by Friday, February 19, 2010

In Swimming in all individual events and relays, each of the Sectional Tournaments will qualify two (2)  automatic qualifiers in each event.  In addition there will be individuals and relays qualifying at-large from the combined Sectionals.  There will be 34 at-large qualifiers in Boys Division I individual events for a total field of 40 contestants, and 14 at-large relay team qualifiers for a total of 20 relays. If an automatic qualifier in individual events should replace a faster swimmer from another sectional, both the automatic qualifier and the replaced swimmer shall qualify and advance to the Districts. 

Districts - Boys - Division II - To be completed by Friday, February 19, 2010

Boys Division I State Qualifiers: Ten divers and five individuals/relays in each swimming event plus eleven at-large individuals/relays in each swimming event from all statewide District Tournaments to the State Tournament at Branin Natatorium, Canton.

Boys Division II State Qualifiers:  Five divers and three individuals/relays in each swimming event plus eleven at-large individuals/relays in each swimming event from all statewide District Tournaments to the State Tournament at Branin Natatorium, Canton.

Diving

Warm-up will begin on both days at 3:00pm with competition beginning at 5:00pm

ALL Divers, Division I and II, whether they will compete in Sectional tournaments or not, MUST be entered electronically on the entry form with the swimmers.

Division I Diving - District qualifiers, girls and boys, will qualify from one of two sectional diving sites. Solon High School will host D I Girls and Boys Diving with the divers qualifying from those schools originally assigned to the Mayfield and Lakewood Sectionals. Division I divers qualifying from the Akron Sectional will compete at Ocasek Natatorium at the University of Akron. Advancing to the District diving tournament will be a total of 32 Girl divers and 32 Boy divers, 16 of whom will qualify from the Solon Diving Sectional and 16 of whom will qualify from the Akron Diving Sectional.

Division II Diving - Due to the small number of diving competitors in Division II, District qualifiers, girls and boys, will NOT compete in a Sectional tournament but will advance directly to the District Diving Tournament.

District Diving will be conducted at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium on Thursday, February 18th with three (3) sessions. The sessions will begin at the following times: 9:00am, 2:00pm, and 7:00pm.  Divisions and gender will be assigned to one of the three sessions. There may be a need to add a session to accomodate the Division II Boys Divers. The number of the Division II boy participants will dictate whether or not a session will be added and, if necessary, when the additonal session will be scheduled. Coaches should check the Northeast District Board website (www.nedab.org ) to see the final district diving schedule.
